American Legion Post 661
Washburn is a village in Marshall and Woodford Counties in the U.S. state of Illinois. The population was 1,147 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Peoria, Illinois Metropolitan Statistical Area. Washburn is an agricultural community located in north-central Illinois. Illinois Route 89 forms the main north-south road through Washburn as Jefferson Street. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km²), all of it land. [2] When visiting Washburn, be sure to stop by the American Legion Post 661 to take a look at their “Huey.” They have a Bell UH-1D-BF “Iroquois (Huey)” (Army 66-00761, c/n 5243) proudly displayed in front of their building.
