Freeport — Albertus Airport (KFEP/FEP)
Albertus Airport (KFEP/FEP) [1]
Albertus Airport (KFEP/FEP) has been in operation since 1945. It offers one hard surface runway large enough to handle any Corporate Jet. The runway is 5,500 feet long by 100 feet wide and grooved full length providing full ILS with MALSAR approach lights, VOR, GPS, and Loc/DME instrument approaches. Additionally, the airport offers two well maintained and smooth grass runways which are great for lighter general aviation aircraft, especially conventional gear aircraft. With three runways, you can always choose one that is close into the wind without having to fight a crosswind landing. Currently, the airport has 65 based aircraft, ranging from ultralights to gliders to jets. [1] Albertus Airport also has a Northrop GT-38A-30-NO Talon (AF 60-0555, c/n N.5128) on static display.
