Lansing Municipal Airport
Glenwood Lansing Road & Burnham Avenue
Village of Lansing, Illinois 60438

When passing through the Village of Lansing, Illinois, be sure to check out the aircraft at Lansing Municipal Airport. We were able to identify three aircraft of interest (above): (A) a Bell UH-1 “Iroquois” at the Vietnam War Memorial located at the corner of Glenwood Lansing Road & Burnham Avenue, (B) a Bell AH-1S “HueyCobra” (Army 71-21002, c/n 21073) located in a fenced area adjacent to hangar, and (C) Douglas C-47 “Skytrain” with invasion stripping on the tarmac with the right engine removed. At this point, we are not exactly sure of the serial numbers and dispositions of these aircraft. The AH-1S and the C-47 were both evident in the Google Earth image taken during 2010.

  • Bell UH-1 “Iroquois (Huey)” (A - c.2010 at Vietnam War Memorial, corner of Glenwood Lansing Road & Burnham Avenue)
  • Bell AH-1S “HueyCobra” (Army 71-21002, c/n 21073) (B - c.2010 in fenced area adjacent to hangar)
  • Douglas C-47 “Skytrain” (C - c.2010 on tarmac with right engine removed)
