This is an interesting FYI set of early aviation Coffee Insert Cards. According to American Card Catalog [2]: (1) the title of the set is Aeroplanes, (2) there are 12 cards in the set, and (3) the ACC reference number is K110. The American Card Catalog also notes that these types of insert cards were popular for a few years around 1890. At this point we’re not sure what the actual date of issue was.

The fronts of the cards contain detailed and attractive color artwork of scenes featuring Aeroplanes/Airships. Even though the set is titled Aeroplanes, the only three cards we have in our collection feature Airships. A close look in the lower left-hand corner of the artwork shows that the cards were printed in Germany. The backs of the cards feature descriptive text and brand advertising.
