The Aeroplanos, Serie 4
is a series of twelve Aeroplanos Spanish candy trade cards issued by Nestle, Peter Cailler y Kohler as candy insert cards. The cards measure approximately 57 × 41 mm and are printed on paper rather than heavy card stock. The cards feature color artwork in a chronology of Aeroplanos from 1812 through 1919. This set is the Spanish version of French Aéroplanes Série VIII
shown previously. Unlike the French set that has blank backs, the Spanish set has generic advertising text backs. As shown below, the generic backs of these cards are usually washed-out with extremely weak copy. We’ve reconstructed a generic back to show that the text is readable.
