Overview 2
The Pioneer Rocket Plane was observed during an airshow at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, Rhinebeck, New York during 2004. The revolutionary design of this small conventional configuration monoplane is quite astounding. Not only does it use off the shelf parts and construction technology, the propulsion system includes both human and rocket propulsion! During our visit, we observed a taxi test to demonstrate the amazing potential of this aircraft. However, due to adverse weather conditions, clear skies and unlimited visibility, the actual flight test of the aircraft was canceled. We are looking forward to learning about the successful completion of the flight test program.
