Overview

The R12 America At War series was one of the last sets of trading cards produced during World War II before the wartime restrictions on materials shut down trading card productions. The R12 America At War series was produced by the W. S. Company in 1942. The set appears to have been printed during the timeframe between the Battle of the Coral Sea and the Battle of Midway, since there is no mention of the Battle of Midway. The set title appears on the top-front of the cards in a red rectangular panel on every card. The set title is also present on the top-back of every card. The card number is noted in a white circle on the front of each card, and on the back of the card below the set title. Each card has a multi-color drawing of a wartime event. The cards were issued in 8-card strips. The 48 cards in the set were consecutively number from 501 to 548. The American Card Catalog Number for the set is R12.
