The “Magic Photos” set takes its name from the self-developing nature of the cards. They were blank on the front when first taken from the wrapper. When moistened, the wrapper was held to the card while exposing it to light, and the black & black and white photo would appear. The fronts of the cards featured the subject with a white surround border with the card titles in the image area. The backs of the cards were in a horizontal (landscape) format with the card number and subset designator, the name of the subset, a very brief subject text, in the notation “SEE DIRECTIONS INSIDE WRAP”. As noted above, these tiny cards were only 22 × 36 mm. The American Card Catalog reference number for this subset is R714-27L. Two different “Hocus Focus Photo Albums” were issued for this series. Each album contained space for 126 “Hocus-Focus Magic Photos”.
