Background

This set is a Partial-Sequel to the 1929 “Tucketts Aviation Series” (C110). This series of 52 cards was issued by William Paterson, Limited, of Brantford, Canada. As with the C110 series, the fronts of the cards featured paintings of 52 different aircraft of the era. However, it should be noted that only 25 of the 52 cards contained new artwork. The remaining 27 card fronts were identical to the C110 series. We have noted the differences in the comparison checklists below. The artist was F. Kenwood Giles. The number of the cards appears only once on the front of each card. The unnumbered back of the card contains the set title, a description of the subject aircraft, and an advertisement to “Try Denver Lunch … The Candy Lunch 5c.”
